Hello handball friends,
The comittee of the Hunze tournaments foundation has the pleasure and honour to organaise the 51th International handball tournament in Gasselternijveen.
This festivity will take place Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th of June 2012.
The matches will be played simultaneously on 18!! Grass fields.
In view of the many positive reactions we received in the past on the sportive and sociable atmospehere during the tournaments, added by the fact that many clubs from the Netherlands and abroad have participated mor than 25 times, we have no doubt that also your club will be interested in participating in this event.
In 2012, the organising committee will again be assisted bij a high numer of enthusiastic volunteers, this to ensure that we can guarantee an excellent overall organisation.
Since 2008 everybody, who stays at the sportground, has to be able to legitimize himself.
The following age groups will play their games on Saturday June 16th.
- Boys and Girls (B-youth): born in 1996, 1997 and 1998;
- Boys and Girls (C-youth) *: Born in 1999, 2000 and 2001;
- Boys and Girls (D-youth) *: Born in 2002 and 2003;
* This can be a mixed team.
Notes:
- There will be no league referees available for this youth tournaments. Participating clubs are hereby requested to arrange for 1 referee for every two teams playing.
- ID cards of the players are requested for this tournament, to enable the organisation committee to carry out the necessary checks.
Start of the tournament is 9.00 am and will last till approximately 16.00 hrs.
The following age-categories will play on Sunday June 17th:
- Ladies and Gentlemen (seniors) : Born in 1992 or earlier;
- Ladies and Gentlemen (A) : Born in 1993, 1994 en 1995.

The referees (m/f) for these matches will be supplied by or through the Dutch Handball Assosiation. We urgently request your club referees to volunteer for this. Please mention their names on the registration form.

OBJECTIVE
To promote the handball sport in general. Furthermore, we offer the participating clubs an 'end of the Handball season' in a sportive and social manner, with the possibility ot strengthen already existing contacts or lay new ones.
Except for a force major situation we guarantee that every team, participating on Saturday, will play at least 4 matches consisting of 2x 12½ minutes. The teams for the Sunday event will play at least 4 matches of 2 x 15 minutes.
REGISTRATION
Deadline for registration for this tournament is march 1st 2012.
Would you be so kind to use attached registration form (by using capitals or typing).
We request you to only register teams which will actually participate in the tournament! We are annually confronted with last minute cancellations and even worse "no-shows"!.
Needless to say that this causes major problems for the orginasation and also participating teams are suffering from it.
The registered teams are put in order by date of application. To avoid disappointment please ensure that registration takes place prior to the mentioned deadline.
When your club has not received regret before May 1st 2009, you can be assured thad the registered teams are scheduled in the tournament.
REGISTRATION MONEY
Registration fee for the Saturday youth tournament is € 17,50 per team.
Registration fee for the Sunday tournament (seniors- and A-teams), is € 22,50 per team.
Registration money needs to be paid simultaneous with your teams registration to bank account 32.11.20.582 of the Rabobank in Gasselternijveen, t.n.v. de Stichting Hunzetoernooien (please mention your club name).
Due to the high preparations, no refund will be made in case adverse weather conditions caus a partial or total cancellation of the tournament. This of course will be decided only in extreme cases.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
Friday night June 15th. Disco night in the marquee on the sports-ground. Free Entrance!!!!
Saturday night June 16th. The traditional tournament ball with a well-known dance/show orchestra. Entrance fee € 5,00 per person.
Note: A beautiful recreation park is situared in the close proximity of the sports complex. For a relative small amount one can use the heated outdoor pool.
POSSIBILITIES FOR OVERNIGHT STAYS
For those teams who will be joining the tournament for more than 1 day, there are the following possibilityies for overnight stays
A. Own tents
Free camping on the sports-ground, space permitting. Please note the following:
Under no circumstance it is allowed to drive cars/campers ets. on to the sport-ground..
All luggage, tents etc. need to be carried to/from the camping spot. Please mention the number of tents on the registration form.
B. At recreation park de Hunze (not free)
The camping site of the nearby recreation park offers the possibility for paid camping. In addition a limited number of bungalows for 4, 6 or 8 persons are for rent. Please contact the management yourself in case you want to make a bookinig

C. In group tents which can be hired through the organisation
These tents will be put-up and taken-down by us. Air beds/mattresses and sleeping-bags need to beh taken bij individuals. The cost per night is € 5,00 per persoon. This is only applicable for groups of 15 persones (or a multitude of 15 persons). Deadline for registration for this tournament is march 1st 2012
Note: Due to space problems we cannot guarantee separate tents for men/woman or boys/girls.
When your club wants to make use of this arrangement, we request you to indicat on your registration form the numer of
night(s) and people. In addition we request you to make the payment together with the entrance money to the above mentioned bank-account.
The programme, rules and other announcements will be sent to you approximately June 1st. We are looking forward to your entry to our tournament, which has attracted thousands of enthusiastic handball amateurs from both the Netherlands and foreign countries.
